Manchester United Owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to terminate the contract of TWO STAR player after dressing room clash this morning with Manager
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is apparently looking to unload two Manchester United stars who are on ‘inflated contracts’.
According to a statement on the club’s official website, “Manchester United plc (NYSE: MANU) and Trawlers Limited, an entity wholly-owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are pleased to confirm that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has completed his acquisition of 25% of the club’s Class B shares and 25% of the club’s Class A shares, following the satisfaction of all conditions, including approvals from the Football Association and the Premier League.”
Ratcliffe and his INEOS staff will be in charge of the club’s football operations, while the Glazers will handle the business aspects.
Ratcliffe and his colleagues are reportedly trying to unload a few players during the summer transfer window in order to cut the club’s pay expenditure.
According to iNews, the INEOS club is looking to transfer players with ‘inflated contracts’, including Brazilian midfielder Casemiro and French defender Raphael Varane.
Varane, a former Real Madrid player, is expected to be released this summer when his contract expires.
Meanwhile, Casemiro has been linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford, with Saudi teams reportedly interested in the 32-year-old.
United have had a rough season under Erik ten Hag, failing to deliver to expectations.
The Red Devils are now sixth in the Premier League rankings, making them unlikely to compete in next season’s Champions League.
On Saturday, after a 1-1 draw with Burnley at Old Trafford, several spectators booed the squad at the final whistle.
Ten Hag stated after the match, “Every team gives away opportunities. But, when it comes to us, it’s strange. We also generated an abundance of opportunities.
“We are one of the most dynamic and entertaining teams in the league right now.” We’re creating a lot of opportunities by playing terrific football. Losing control was needless. “We fixed it at halftime, and the second half was much better.”
