Manchester United Manager Erig Ten Hag has splashed £100 million on wordclass winger who has more goal contribution than Cole Palmer this Season
Dwight Yorke argues Manchester United should not hesitate to pay an extra £50 million to get Michael Olise’s signature.
Despite their long-term interest in him, which finally didn’t translate into a clear deal, the Crystal Palace player is likely to shortly join Bayern Munich in a £50.7 million contract, beating competition from Chelsea, Newcastle, and indeed Manchester United.
Yorke firmly believes that United should offset Bayern’s action by doubling the offer, implying a significant nine-figure reward for the 22-year-old player, according to Manchester Evening News.
Speaking with Crypto Sports Betting, Yorke, a part of the legendary 1999 treble-winning side United, said: “Man United should have wrapped up signing Michael Olise already, you can tell the lad is a wonderful act and would grow at the club. He seized his chance at Crystal Palace and performed admisitely.
Having previously spent £85million on Antony whose performance has been deemed unsatisfactory in his two years at Old Trafford, the ex-United forward, who racked up 65 goals from his 152 appearances with the team, believes it wouldn’t be beyond capability for the club to offer more than £100million.
Yorke said: “That sort of player will be worth easily at least £50m nowadays, but if Man United are buying Antony for £85m, they will surely spend upwards of £100m for Olise. Man United cannot criticize what Palace values Olise at given the amount of money spent on such individuals like Antony.”
