Manchester City winger Bernardo Silva is has decided to join this shocking European Champions League giant this morning
Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva wants his future decided by the end of Euro 2024 this summer.
Silva has two years remaining on his current contract, but has long been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona, and he is understood to be looking for a fresh challenge.
In addition to Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain attempted to recruit Silva in the past, but he declined and signed a one-year contract extension with City last year.
However, Silva may now be ready to move on, with the 29-year-old’s new contract reportedly including a £50 million release clause that can be activated starting this summer.
That has alerted a number of Europe’s best teams to Silva’s prospective availability, as the Portugal star has previously requested to leave City to be closer to his family. City manager Pep Guardiola sees Silva as one of his most crucial players and would be loath to lose him, but he has never prevented players from leaving if they show a desire to do so.
Ilkay Gundogan departed City for Barcelona last summer, and Silva may be persuaded to join him at the Nou Camp, along with Portugal teammates Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix.
Silva has had a remarkable seven-year career at City, winning five Premier League championships, four League Cups, two FA Cups, the Champions League, Club World Cup, and the Super Cup.
