Manchester City star waves ‘goodbye’ to Guardiola with transfer to Real Madrid now on the verge deal almost done
According to sources, Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez is on track to join Real Madrid this summer.
The Citizens won their fourth consecutive Premier League title on the last day of last season, defeating Arsenal by two points.
That solidified Guardiola’s status as one of the finest managers in English football history, despite talk that he may depart when his contract expires in 2025.
There have also been rumors of Gareth Southgate and several of Guardiola’s finest players leaving this summer.
Alvarez, Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Ederson, and Jack Grealish are among the players linked with a move away before the transfer window closes.
Man City were previously thought to be looking for approximately £60 million for Alvarez, but a recent rumor suggested they had reduced their asking price to £40 million as they try to offload a disgruntled player before the end of August.
There have been reports that Alvarez is unhappy with his minutes under Guardiola, and the Manchester City striker recently stated that he “will decide” his future after the Olympics.
