Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s emotionally broke down In tears this evening in Man City Vs Aston Villa after Man City’s 115 FFP charges
Pep Guardiola used Manchester City’s 115 Premier League charges to instill a siege mentality in his squad following a difficult period of form.
City’s new behind-the-scenes documentary depicts the players’ reactions to the Premier League charging the club with 115 alleged violations of Financial Fair Play rules.
The documentary depicts Guardiola attempting to improve City’s form at the start of 2023, calling into question the club’s intention to win the Premier League again. After a difficult period in January and February, City kicked into high gear, racing to an unprecedented treble.
And the video captures a pivotal incident before Guardiola’s home triumph over Aston Villa, the first game since the charges were published, in which he made a key pre-match alteration to take advantage of the Premier League charges.
The documentary does not shed much fresh information on City’s viewpoint. Their statement from the time – that they welcome an independent review of the evidence to clear their name – was repeated, and a video of Guardiola’s defiant press conference a few days later, in which he insisted he would not stand down as manager, was aired.
However, Guardiola gathers his entire players and backroom personnel in a circle around him in the dressing room prior to kick-off, providing insight into the Villa game.
City had just lost to Tottenham, following a sequence of games in which the manager had chastised his players for their behavior. In light of the Premier League charges, Guardiola expressed his affection for the club and instructed his players to hold a pre-match huddle on the pitch before issuing a rallying cry.
“I need to speak to you. “Come here,” he started. “First, every game beginning today, when we are together before the referee starts the game. You hug each other, the players, in the center circle, near the referee and the opponents.
And someone, it doesn’t matter, starts talking one, two, three times, saying in their eyes that we are going to win every single game, or at least try. “Second, I love this club. Do not tell me why. They were very helpful during difficult times. I want my warriors. You are going to unconditionally back me, folks.
I want to fight in the Premier League, my pals. I want to fight the Premier League more than ever. Attack and defend everyone. Everything we’ve won has been on the pitch, gentlemen. I adore the club. I also love you.
Let’s go. City did not lose again in the league until they won the championship, winning 14 of the next 15 games. The pre-match huddles persisted throughout the season and into the current campaign. The city maintains its innocence of the charges.
