Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has announced Very Sad news for Rodri as he is set to miss Premier League opener Vs Chelsea tomorrow
Star midfielder Rodri will not be available for Manchester City’s trip to Chelsea on Sunday.
The main event of the first weekend of the Premier League is the match between new Blues manager Enzo Maresca and previous coach Pep Guardiola at Stamford Bridge.
However, the vital Rodri, who went 74 games without losing for City until losing the FA Cup Final at the conclusion of the previous season, will not be playing for the defending champions.
Due to his forced exit after Spain’s Euro 2024 final triumph over England at halftime and his lack of return to City’s training, Rodri will not be eligible for the opening match of the new season.
When asked on Friday if Rodri was fit, Guardiola responded to reporters, saying, “I have not seen him yet, but I think he feels okay.”
“We will need to get him into training so we can observe how he reacts to moving his body. [He confronts Chelsea] has no chance.”
Oscar Bobb, who has been out for “three to four months” due to a fractured leg, will also be absent for City.
