Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that he wants to coach a national team before retiring.
Guardiola’s deal with the Premier League runs until 2025, and he has not ruled out signing new terms.
In the past, the 53-year-old has been associated with posts in Brazil, England, and the US.
He has now revealed that he would like to take leadership of a major tournament.
When asked by ESPN Brasil what remained for him to achieve, Guardiola replied, “A national team.
“I’d like to coach a national squad for the World Cup or European Championship. “I’d like that.”
Guardiola was then asked which country he would prefer to coach.
He said, “I’m not sure who would want me! To work for a national team, they must want you, just like a club.”
