Let him go” “He can’t suit my style of play, I can’t play him in my squad” –Chelsea New manager Enzo Maresca tells Chelsea to sell 24-years-old Chelsea star
The player wishes to stay with the squad, but Chelsea seems to be eager to trade him as they believe he is not a suitable match for Enzo Maresca’s approach of play.
Though it seems odd, this assertion is nevertheless worth considering as it comes from a usually reliable source of sports news.
While The Athletic claims Chelsea is open to proposals for the defender Trevoh Chalobah feels his future is at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea claims Trevoh Chalobah’s out-of—-the-back playing approach does not match Maresca’s. Fulham among the teams showing interest in the 24-year-old.
Chalobah is a pure profit margin, hence Chelsea would naturally offer him for sale this summer. He has also been said to be on the sales list for several months; if he hadn’t been hurt and had a buyer, he most certainly would have been sold in January.
It seems ridiculous to me to claim Chalobah is a bad ball-player center back. He is more competent than what is being described here even if he might not be the best defense in the world when it comes to ball possession.
Though I imagine Chelsea won’t let go of a man they recently acquired and admit they made a mistake, especially considering Chalobah would be a sure profit, he is, if anything, more adept with the ball than Axel Disasi.
But if you ask me, this is an odd claim most likely started with Chelsea directly. Chalobah’s popularity among Chelsea supporters will be known to them, and they will object should he be sold. Thus, perhaps this is an effort to give the new approach of playing responsibilities. That’s only my perspective, though.
