Jude Bellingham is facing one of the biggest bans in football for offensive remarks against Mason Greenwood

After Mason Greenwood was tackled in a recent La Liga match between Real Madrid and Getafe, Jude Bellingham allegedly called him a “rapist” and made other disparaging remarks.

This remark seemed to allude to Greenwood’s recent legal troubles, which included Greater Manchester Police-filed accusations of attempted rape, coercive behaviour, and assault.

Not to be outdone, Getafe lodged a formal protest against Bellingham’s actions with La Liga. Bellingham may now have to serve a protracted suspension, which has taken the player and the team by surprise.

The Sun has reported that La Liga has forwarded the issue to the RFEF competition committee in order to conduct a comprehensive inquiry.

Within the next two weeks, a selected judge will oversee the investigation and render a decision regarding Bellingham’s destiny.

If Bellingham is found guilty, the type of offence will determine how serious the punishment will be. A “serious” infraction carries a potential four-game suspension, while a “grave” offence could result in a 10-match suspension.

Since joining Real Madrid in the summer from Dortmund, Jude Bellingham has been a prominent player who has had a big impact on the team’s performance.

He has 16 goals and 3 assists in 21 league games, for a total of 20 goals and 8 assists in all competitions.

Real Madrid would therefore suffer a significant setback from a possible ban, which would affect their prospects of winning in both local and Europeanchampionships.
