it’s has been confirmed this evening that Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is interested in signing £25m Man City for his first summer signing
Jose Mourinho now wants to make £25 million. Man City’s blockbuster summer signing
Jose Mourinho allegedly hopes to sign one Manchester City player this summer, with the club willing to sell.
So far this summer at the Etihad Stadium has been quiet, with only one new signing and a handful of periphery and young players leaving.
There has been chatter about Ederson and Kevin De Bruyne, both of whom are targets for the Saudi Pro League.
Mateo Kovacic, another player coveted by Fenerbahce, might be on his way out this summer.
Man City are willing to selling Mateo Kovacic, with Jose Mourinho and Fenerbache interested.
The Sun (28/07, p. 57) reports that Jose Mourinho, who took over as manager of Fenerbahce earlier this summer, is interested in Mateo Kovacic.
The Portuguese reportedly wants to make the Croatia international his’marquee’ summer acquisition.
According to reports, City would be willing to trade Kovacic if they got an offer of £25 million, which is the price the club paid Chelsea for him originally.
He is at the top of Mourinho’s list, which is odd given that Kovacic has joined three Mourinho clubs but has never played for him.
He’s gone at Inter, Real Madrid, and Chelsea, but each time, Mourinho departed shortly before Kovacic arrived.
City should consider bids for Kovacic.
While he had a solid first season at City, he didn’t consistently impress. If Fenerbahce came in and offered what City first paid, a sale may be explored.
And if Kovacic, dubbed ‘an amazing performer’ by Jack Grealish last season, leaves, Matheus Nunes might gain more importance at the Etihad.
Nunes battled for minutes during his debut season at the club, as Pep Guardiola favored Kovacic. There is a talented player there, but he has not been consistent. If Kovacic departed, perhaps there would be more possibilities for him to get traction.
