“I WAS FORCED TO LEAVE CHELSEA”, CHELSEA FLOP Timo Werner Expose Who Forced Him Out Of CHELSEA
Spurs equalised twice after going behind to Manchester United, with Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford scoring for the Red Devils and Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur scoring for the visitors.
Werner assisted Bentancur’s goal and, while Spurs could have won the game, he was satisfied with his first performance after signing on loan from RB Leipzig.
The German international had a disappointing experience at Chelsea before returning to Leipzig, but he is delighted to be back in England with another London club.
‘First and foremost, I am delighted to be back.’ ‘I believe it’s a lot of joy to play here,’ Werner said to Sky Sports.
‘You can see today that it’s the best league in terms of tempo and game flow. I had a great time being outside with the boys. At least one point, when I can workout with the men more in the next days, things will be better.’
Werner had opportunities that he passed up, and he said that he was nervous about making his debut, especially at such a famous venue.
‘Playing for a new club at this stadium versus United is always a bit nerve-racking,’ he admitted. ‘At the end of the day, it’s football; I tried to enjoy it, and that’s what I did.
‘I’m overjoyed. What I’ve seen from the coaches and all of the players in the last few days has been great. The team is incredibly kind, and they immediately included me in everything. I’m overjoyed. Another highlight for me would be to play in our stadium.
‘As an offensive player, you always want to score, but an assist is always nice.’
Werner was drafted immediately into the starting XI despite having little time to train with his new team since Heung-min Son is abroad with South Korea in the Asian Cup, Dejan Kulusevski was ill, and James Maddison is still out injured.
