“I warned Enzo Maresca about that particular player, he refused to bench him and He drew the game Vs Manchester United that could have see him top the league… Enzo Maresca is making the same mistake now, I’m warning him also”: Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel names ONE player who doesn’t deserve to start for Chelsea, warned Maresca about the unforgivable mistake

Enzo Maresca, Chelsea’s head coach, shared his thoughts on the team’s goalless draw with Everton at Goodison Park. Despite having opportunities to secure a win, the Blues were left frustrated. Maresca expressed his satisfaction with the result, citing the difficulty of playing against a well-organized Everton side.

“I’m absolutely happy with the result,” Maresca said. “I told the players that I’m more happy today than I was after the Brentford game. We knew it would be a tricky game, and Everton’s defensive record is one of the best in Europe. They make it difficult for opponents to create chances, and we had to adapt our game plan accordingly.”

When asked what Chelsea could have done differently in the second half to create more chances, Maresca acknowledged that Everton’s defense was solid. “We knew it would be tough to create chances, but we tried to attack better in the second half. We moved Enzo Fernandez into an attacking midfield role and made some other adjustments, but ultimately, we couldn’t find the breakthrough.”

Maresca also praised the performance of Tosin Adarabioyo, who made a crucial block to prevent Everton from scoring. “Tosin was very good, and our entire defense was solid. We kept a clean sheet, which is important, especially considering the injuries we’ve had.”

Regarding Robert Sanchez’s performance, Maresca noted that the goalkeeper made a few important saves. “Robert did well, but he didn’t have to make too many saves. We’re happy with his performance, but we know he’s there to help us when we need him.”

Maresca also acknowledged the challenging windy conditions, which made it difficult for both teams to play their usual game. “It was a different type of game today, with long balls, second balls, and set pieces. But our players showed great togetherness and adaptability, which was brilliant to see.”
