“I want to Leave” Mouricio Pochettino don’t take me as one of his players anyone, he keeps benching me for an Academy player- £45 million Chelsea Star player WANTS TO terminate his contract with Chelsea
Ian Maatsen, a talented player for Chelsea, has expressed his desire to leave the team during the upcoming summer transfer window. Sources reveal that Maatsen, who has been on loan at Borussia Dortmund since January, is keen on securing a permanent contract with the German club. The left-back, who recently scored his debut Champions League goal, has endeared himself to the Dortmund faithful and wishes to continue his journey at the Westfalenstadion.
Despite initially aiming to establish himself as a regular starter for Chelsea before his loan spell, Maatsen’s priorities have shifted, and he now seeks a permanent move to Dortmund, even though he admits feeling “quite comfortable” at his current loan club. Reports from Germany suggest that Maatsen possesses a release clause in the range of €35–40 million, adding to the speculation surrounding his potential departure from Chelsea.
Maatsen’s journey has been marked by loan spells, including a successful stint at Burnley where he contributed to their Championship-winning campaign. Chelsea had previously entertained offers for his permanent transfer, including a £31.5 million bid from Burnley, which was accepted by the London club. However, Maatsen opted for a loan move to Dortmund in January, where he has featured in 17 games thus far.
Reflecting on his experience, Maatsen expressed gratitude for the opportunity at Dortmund and acknowledged the unpredictability of his footballing journey. Despite initially envisioning a future at Chelsea, he has embraced his time at Dortmund and is focused on performing at the highest level. With the conclusion of the current season looming, Maatsen remains open to negotiations with Chelsea but appears poised to continue his career with Borussia Dortmund.
“I always believed in my ability to play for Chelsea, but circumstances led me elsewhere,” Maatsen remarked. “Now that I’m here, I value the opportunity and am content with my journey thus far. I came to Dortmund to showcase my skills and continue my development, and today’s achievement fills me with joy.”
