:”he’s mistake always cost us the win” Erik ten Hag sends warning to Man Utd star who ‘hasn’t shown big potential’

United’s 23/24 season has been a forgettable one, following a disastrous start to the campaign.

Ten Hag’s men are now sixth in the Premier League league, eight points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

United’s Champions League ambition turned into a nightmare when they finished last in their group, trailing Bayern Munich, FC Copenhagen, and Galatasaray.

However, United has gained momentum in recent weeks, having gone seven games unbeaten before losing to Fulham.

A late Alex Iwobi goal gave Marco Silva’s side a stunning 2-1 victory at Old Trafford.

One of the main discussion points this season has been the performance of winger Antony, who has only one goal and one assist in 25 games.

Ten Hag said ahead of their encounter against Fulham that the Brazilian hasn’t played to his full capacity.

He stated: “He needs to prove a point, which he will do. And he has great potential. He hasn’t exhibited it in a while, but I know what his talent is, and it’s all about demonstrating it to himself.

“And, yes, he will probably have his opportunity, right? But, sure, I believe that was always the intention.”

Ten Hag went on to say, “You have competition, and now he has to show himself on the training pitch, but so do others because we have opportunities there.”

“With [Amad] Diallo returning from an injury, he’s performing well in training. Omari Forson is doing fine. So, we have possibilities for filling those roles. And it is not mandatory for Marcus Rashford to play as a centre forward.”

United will return to play next weekend, facing local rivals Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
