Arsenal Gunners News

“He is the BIGGEST problem in this Arsenal team. “He will cause them to lose the Premier League title to Liverpool or City.”- Chelsea Legend. John Terry picks out the Arsenal player that will make Arsenal loose the Premier League title this season and leave them trophyless again just like last season.

Arsenal experienced a rather subdued January transfer window, marked by a conspicuous absence of new signings. This stemmed from their adherence to Financial Fair Play (FFP) and Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), preventing them from engaging in significant player acquisitions. This constraint is poised to linger as a potential hurdle for the club heading into the upcoming summer transfer period.

FFP regulations may prompt Arsenal to offload Eddie Nketiah, as the club faces restrictions on expenditure. Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, harbored ambitions of fortifying his squad during the winter window. However, financial constraints precluded any substantial reinforcements.

The crux of Arsenal’s financial dilemma can be traced back to their lavish spending in the previous summer. A staggering sum of nearly £200 million was invested at the onset of the campaign, with subsequent sales yielding less than a third of the initial outlay.

Looking ahead to the summer transfer window, Arsenal is anticipated to take an active stance, potentially resorting to the sale of two homegrown talents to rectify their FFP and PSR standing. The Athletic reports that Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson, both products of the club’s youth academy at Hale End, could be among those on the chopping block.

The strategic decision to offload academy graduates such as Nketiah would position Arsenal favorably, as any proceeds from such transactions would be classified as pure profit on the financial ledger.
