‘He got quick feet like KYLIAN Mbappe’,’ Destroying players like it’s nothing’… Jason Cundy impressed by what £50m Chelsea star did against Aston Villa.

‘He had fast feet’ and was known for destroying players… Jason Cundy was thrilled by how the £50 million Chelsea player performed against Aston Villa.

Jason Cundy heaped admiration on Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling during Friday night’s cup encounter against Aston Villa.

Chelsea and Villa couldn’t be separated today in the FA Cup fourth round match, which ended 0-0 after 90 minutes at Stamford Bridge. It means they will meet again in a cup replay at Villa Park for a place in the fifth round.

The Blues qualified for the Carabao Cup final by defeating Middlesbrough earlier this week. Despite failing to capitalise on their chances tonight, Mauricio Pochettino’s side may be moving in the right direction.

Jason Cundy referenced Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling several times this evening while co-commentating on the cup match.

He repeatedly singled out the 29-year-old Blues winger as the brightest spark on the pitch, particularly in his match against Villa right-back Matty Cash.

“Sterling has Matty Cash on toast at the moment. He’s a showoff. Every pass and movement gets past him. Sterling on our left is strutting his stuff. “Matty Cash has problems,” Cundy revealed via Chelsea’s 5th Stand App (8:15pm, January 26).

He later commented (8:21pm): “Sterling is having a good game.”

Cundy then stated (9:00pm): “Sterling had a decent game without being particularly destructive. You get the impression that if anything comes out of this Chelsea team, it will most likely come from him.”

At 9:04pm, he continued, “He’s had the beating of Cash all tonight… Sterling’s feet move so quickly.

Raheem Sterling vs Aston Villa

Sterling struggled to find the perfect end product against Aston Villa this evening, but there are hints that he’s rediscovered his best form in recent performances.

Some of the English winger’s passing and dribbling tonight appeared really dangerous. Unfortunately, his teammates did not put their shooting boots on again.

We believe £50 million star (Daily Mail) Sterling was unfortunate to be substituted for the final phase of the game. Similarly, journalist Simon Johnson observed via X that Blues forward Noni Madueke appeared unhappy to be substituted during the second half against Villa.
