“He does not play Chelsea pattern of Football and Mouricio Pochettino keeps playing regardless of his silly mistakes that costs us the FA cup yesterday-Lampard criticises Chelsea star for not being ‘at the level’ after FA Cup defea
Frank Lampard stated that Nicolas Jackson’s performance in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final loss to Manchester City did not place him on par with Chelsea.
They missed out on the final of the following month under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino, having failed to qualify after squandering multiple opportunities to take the lead against City at Wembley.
Jackson wasted three obvious opportunities for Chelsea, including a close-range strike that he directed directly at City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega in the second half.
Alan Shearer remarked, “Poor day at the office for him,” as part of the BBC’s post-match analysis of Jackson’s performance.
“This has been a recurring motif for Chelsea throughout the entire season; prior to the game, Poch stated that he believes they ought to be in or around fourth place [in the Premier League]; however, due to the xG, this is precisely what he means.
‘Jackson had three excellent opportunities, including two one-on-ones, but he never appeared secure; he made an error in judgment and executed some extremely cunning moves, but he never appeared comfortable.
“They truly are exceptional caretakers,” the author said. He failed to shift the ball from his feet, squandering three excellent opportunities.
Lampard, on the other hand, felt pity for Jackson but concluded that the 22-year-old’s performance fell short of the standard Chelsea require from their starting striker.
Lampard stated, “I feel a little bit sorry for him because he made a lot of good movement; he’s a young striker. The attributes we saw in him today when he was competing against Kyle Walker—pace; good movement; but there’s a technical detail there; the extra touch; and the decision making at the highest level in these highest level of games are what make the difference.”
“If you strike the header anywhere other than his torso, it will be a score.” I feel bad for him; we’ve all been in his position, missing crucial opportunities, and this decision is particularly unfortunate for the game.
However, at that age, it is impossible to play as a striker for Chelsea.
