Following his 2020 Manchester United debut, Van van Beek has found it difficult to make a name for himself in the starting lineup.

Ten Hag seems to be in favour of Van de Beek’s decision to look for chances elsewhere.

Last season, I sustained a knee injury that prevented me from playing for several months. It’s a sad event that makes me even more appreciative of my profession.

I still feel happy to wear the Manchester United shirt every day, even though I play for an amazing club. But now that I’m completely healed and training nonstop, I can’t contain my excitement. But there comes a point at which choices must be made.

“I can’t wait to return to the pitch. The manager is currently making different decisions. There are other people pounding on the door besides me, and our team is formidable. Let us observe what happens in January.

Van de Beek developed into one of Europe’s most promising young midfielders at Ajax under Ten Hag’s tutelage.

He was nominated for the 2019 Ballon d’Or for his contributions, and he was a key player in Ajax’s incredible run to the final of the Champions League.

In the end, Van van Beek accepted a £40 million contract to join Manchester United in the 2020 summer, even though Real Madrid was considering him as a long-term Paul Pogba substitute.

But after making just four Premier League starts in his rookie campaign, he saw a decline in his possibilities.

As he considered his options for a possible exit, Van van Beek reportedly kept in touch with a number of European clubs during the summer, including Roma, AC Milan, and Inter.

Other possible destinations included OGC Nice, Celtic, and maybe a return to Ajax, although no decision had been made.
