Goodnews for Manchester City Fans as Pep Guardiola has announced the returning date of the Ballon D’Or winner Rodri to Etihad
Rodri was presented with the historic Ballon d’Or trophy by George Weah, the 1995 champion and a former City striker, during a distinguished event held at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris. Rodri’s Ballon d’Or victory underscores his domination last season, as he beat out notable rivals like as Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, and fellow Spaniard Dani Carvajal to earn the award.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Rodri will be given with his Ballon d’Or trophy on the pitch before this Saturday’s match against Tottenham, giving fans another chance to celebrate his great achievement. As part of the celebrations, the club is giving free Rodri jersey printing at the Etihad Stadium and Arndale CityStores starting on Saturday and lasting through Sunday.
Did you know?
Rodri has been rehabbing in Spain after surgery for an ACL injury sustained in a 2-2 draw with Arsenal in September, and this will be his first appearance at the Etihad since. His absence has coincided with a difficult period for Guardiola’s team, who recently experienced an unparalleled run of four straight defeats. The defending champions suffered consecutive Premier League losses to Bournemouth and Brighton, as well as a Champions League defeat to Ruben Amorim’s Sporting CP.
