Former Roma and Manchester United Boss Jose Mourinho is set to Sign Manchester United Star after he was announced new manager of Fenerbahce
Victor Lindelof may not be the only Manchester United player that joins Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce this summer, according to reports.
Sweden defender Lindelof, who joined United while Mourinho was in charge, is hoping for a reunion. Erik ten Hag is thought to have approved the move, despite using the centre-back infrequently last season due to injuries.
Fener, who came second in the Super Lig last season, are also thought to have their sights on Casemiro. The Brazilian had a rough second season at Old Trafford and has been linked with a summer departure.
Mourinho has previously campaigned for reunions with former players, such as bringing Nemanja Matic to Roma during his tenure there. While he did not manage Casemiro at Old Trafford, he is familiar with the Brazilian from their brief stint at Real Madrid.
Casemiro joined Madrid on loan during Mourinho’s last season at the club. He made his debut under the Portuguese, but he became more prominent under subsequent managers.
According to Sporx, Fenerbahce sports director Mario Branco has begun to consider if Casemiro would be too expensive for the Turkish club. The Brazil international joined United for £60 million but is unlikely to command a similar fee when he leaves.
As one of the highest-paid players in the Premier League, let alone at Old Trafford, Casemiro’s summer exit might help United free up finances to strengthen in other areas. The Saudi Pro League has also expressed interest, after similar movements for former United players Cristiano Ronaldo and Alex Telles in the previous 18 months.
Midway through the season, United extended Lindelof’s contract for one year. However, an exit is still possible, as his contract expires in the summer of 2025.
