Former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been appointed as the manager of this shocking Premier League Club
Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is allegedly in negotiations with a Premier League club about his return to management.
Solskjaer has not coached a club since leaving Manchester United in November 2021, having turned down a number of club and national team opportunities.
However, the Norwegian looks to be eager to return to the dugout after missing out on the Besiktas position earlier this week.
Solskjaer stated earlier this year that he would take one more club position, and that opportunity may have arisen when newly promoted Leicester City approached the 51-year-old, according to the Sun.
The Foxes are seeking for a new manager following the untimely departure of Enzo Maresca, who left to become Chelsea’s new head coach after leading Leicester back to the top division at the first attempt.
Solskjaer is believed to be highly regarded by Leicester chairman Top Srivaddhanaprabha and was considered for the position last summer following Dean Smith’s resignation.
No actual discussions are claimed to have taken place, but the Norwegian is anticipated to be on the club’s shortlist of alternatives for Maresca.
In December 2018, Solskjaer took over as caretaker at United, replacing Jose Mourinho.
The Norwegian originally enjoyed great success at Old Trafford, gaining a full-time deal and leading his previous team to third and second place finishes in his two full seasons there.
However, after witnessing five defeats in seven Premier League games, he was stripped of his duties after a 4-1 loss to Watford.
He has worked as a technical observer for UEFA since September of last year.
Meanwhile, Leicester have allegedly approached former Chelsea manager Graham Potter about the manager post, with Steve Cooper also being considered.
