Former Chelsea Star and Manager Frank Lampard reveals reason he recently stayed away from Cristiano Ronaldo despite being in same hotel

Frank Lampard explained the reason he avoided Cristiano Ronaldo on holiday even though he stayed in the same hotel as the Portuguese mega-star.

Francisco Conceicao scored a 92nd-minute winner on Tuesday to help Portugal from behind against the Czech Republic 2-1 in Group F.

With the five-time Ballon d’Or winner among those who have turned off numerous crucial opportunities, Ronaldo and his Portugal comrades mostly work in front of goal.

With his first tournament back in 2004, Ronaldo made history in the Euro 2024 opener despite a slow performance by being the first ever player to appear in six European Championships.

Still in perfect form at 39, Lampard stated on the BBC that he avoided Ronaldo on holiday, apparently out of physical discomfort.

Staying in the same hotel as Ronaldo a few months earlier, the England and Chelsea icon quipped that he couldn’t get near the superstar most of the time and donned a t-shirt when posing for a picture because of the “amazing” body of the Al Nassr forward.

“I met into him on holiday a few months back; I was in the same hotel on the beach and thankfully his sunspot each day was a little down from me,” Lampard added.

“I quickly slipped my t-shirt on and got a great picture with him after dragging him over for a photo with my kid due to his amazing performance.

“I saw he was scheduled two daily gym visits accompanied by personal trainer. Just serves to highlight his commitment to his work.

“I was sipping a beer watching him and gave him a wave of applause as he walked back!!”
