Finally ✅: Karim Benzema announcement ongoing now at London colney, 1yr contract signed, medical done already

Arsenal is reportedly gearing up for a January move to acquire former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, who is currently playing for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Professional League. Despite being the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, Benzema is said to be discontented with his life in the Middle East and is eager to make a return to Europe, as per TeamTalk.

The 36-year-old striker’s potential move has also caught the attention of Chelsea, who are in search of additional firepower to enhance their position in the Premier League. However, Arsenal, led by manager Mikel Arteta, is prepared to go head-to-head with Chelsea for Benzema’s signature at Stamford Bridge. Arteta is keen on securing a proven goalscorer to bolster his attacking options alongside Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

Benzema, originally starting his career at Lyon, holds the second position in Real Madrid’s all-time scoring list, trailing only behind Cristiano Ronaldo with 354 goals for the Bernabeu club. While Arsenal is keen on Benzema, their interest is contingent on securing him through a loan arrangement.

In the ongoing transfer window, Arsenal was previously linked with Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, but both players were deemed financially out of reach. Similarly, Chelsea is facing budgetary constraints as they explore options for strikers, mirroring Arsenal’s challenge in identifying a suitable player within their financial constraints this month.
