“Even his teammates are tired of his ERRORS, I want him out of my club with immediate effect before the Saudi pro League Transfer window is closed”: Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has instructed Pochettino to get rid of FLOP Player
Chelsea were crushed at Anfield, serving as a harsh reality check following a period of good form. Liverpool dominated from tip to end in Merseyside, leaving Chelsea and their travelling fans disappointed.
Diogo Jota put Liverpool ahead after 23 minutes. Jota forced his way through the gap between Benoit Badiashile and Thiago Silva to give the Reds the lead at Anfield.
Conor Bradley then extended Liverpool’s lead shortly after. Chelsea was left susceptible on the break, and Bradley had enough of space out on the right side before blasting the ball into the bottom corner.
Darwin Nunez then missed a penalty shortly before halftime after Benoit Badiashile fouled Jota in the box. But Mauricio Pochettino had seen enough and made three substitutions at halftime.
It didn’t change much, though, as Liverpool remained dominant in the second half. Dominik Szoboszlai scored Liverpool’s third goal of the night, beating Djordje Petrovic.
Christopher Nkunku responded, but Luis Diaz quickly made it clear that this was only a consolation. An extremely dismal and unpleasant evening for Chelsea and their fans. These are Bobby Vincent’s player ratings…
Djordje Petrovic made a great stop to deflect a Darwin Nunez strike over the crossbar on nine minutes. Then, just before 20 minutes, a spectacular save on the post denied the Uruguayan yet again. 7.
Axel Disasi faces a tough test against the incredibly direct and aggressive Luis Diaz. To be honest, I had a hell of a night. 5.
Thiago Silva, along with Benoit Badiashile, must be stronger in order to prevent Jota from scoring. Not even close to his best. 4.
Benoit Badiashile made a couple of key tackles early on to boost his confidence, including a smashing one on Diogo Jota five minutes in. He and Silva were responsible for Jota’s goal. He also gives away the penalty, so it is far from his best day. 4.
Ben Chilwell – Gave possession to Nunez sloppily on 14 minutes and was fortunate that the Liverpool attacker fired wide. Dive time is scheduled for 35 minutes. I summarised it. 4.
Moises Caicedo – Poor performance on the second goal. Gives it away too easily, allowing Liverpool to counterattack and score through Bradley. The Ecuadorian is not performing as well as he has in recent outings. 5.
Enzo Fernandez – He was unable to get on the ball as often as he would have liked. 5.
Conor Gallagher – He had a great chance for a penalty early on, but Paul Tierney and the VAR were having none of it. Gallagher was unable to contribute significantly for the remainder of the encounter. 4.
Noni Madueke – Quiet and unsuccessful on the right flank against a very strong left-back in Joe Gomez. Hooked at halftime. 4.
Raheem Sterling was booed every time he touched the ball, as expected. In Sterling’s modest performance, he was also unable to silence the home crowd. 4.
Cole Palmer reprises his role as the phoney nine. There were a few nice touches, but nothing noteworthy. Certainly not at his amazing best. 5.
Substitutes
Mykhailo Mudryk – Misses a good chance on 50 minutes, just after coming in. It might be on his left foot, but he simply needs to improve. 5.
Christopher Nkunku – What a finish. His shot was so precise and accurate that it hit the post and went in. Looks like a real finisher. 8.
Malo Gusto – Does well to locate Mudryk with the aforementioned possibility for the winger. 6.
Carney Chukwuemeka – Does exceptionally effectively for Nkunku’s goal. I have missed Carney. 7.
Cesare Casadei – Came on too late to affect the game. N/A.
