England Manager Gareth Southgate has responded to rumours linking him with the Manchester United if Erig Ten Hag get Sacked
During a news conference on Friday, England manager Gareth Southgate made it clear that he did not want the job at Manchester United.
This week, it was said that United backer Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made the England manager his top choice to take over at Old Trafford this summer.
When Southgate’s deal with the national team ends in December, the FA wants to sign him to a new one.

But the Daily Star says Ratcliffe is “increasingly confident” that he can get Southgate to join United. Ratcliffe is said to be pleased by Southgate’s work with England.
In order to get Southgate, who is one of the choices to take over if Erik ten Hag is fired, the Premier League might have to pay around £800,000.
But because there is a lot of talk about his future, Southgate has chosen to talk about the rumours that he might be moving to Manchester United in public.

“From my point of view, there are two things,” he said before the friendly match against Brazil on Saturday.
One is that I’m the boss of England. The main thing I have to do is try to produce a European Championship. The other thing is that Manchester United now has a manager.
“When there is a manager in place, I think it is always completely rude.” That kind of thing doesn’t fit my schedule.

Southgate will not talk to anyone who is interested before the European Championship this summer. This means that if a team wants to talk to him, they will have to wait.

There have been rumours that the former Aston Villa and Middlesbrough back should stay as England manager, and Manchester United defender Harry Maguire asked him to do so earlier this week.
When asked if the England team wants Southgate to stay on after the summer, he said, “Of course they do.”
“We want to be successful in the Euros – we are not looking at the World Cup at the moment – but obviously if we are successful at the Euros, which is our main focus, of course, we want to be successful.”

“If Gareth is the person who can help us succeed, then we want him to stay as long as possible,” he said. It’s been great getting along with him. It’s been a lot of fun to see how far our country has come and how successful we’ve been.

“I know he’ll say the same thing now: it’s all about getting a trophy.” I don’t know what will happen after the Euros, and he might not either.
But I think that because of what he’s done, we’ve come a long way since he took over the job. He’s a big reason for that.
“The players and people close to him definitely know and respect him.” And the people whose thoughts matter to him.”
