Arsenal Gunners News

DEAL CLOSE ✅: Arsenal is in the final stages of concluding a deal for £55 million Star, whose agent agreed to terms with Arsenal last night – the transaction will be declared as done deal tomorrow morning.

Brentford aimed to find a replacement for Ivan Toney, and there are reports of Arsenal approaching to secure the services of an in-form striker.

With a pressing need for a new striker, Arsenal’s interest in acquiring a number nine has been a recurring topic in recent months. Manager Mikel Arteta is seeking offensive alternatives and a reliable goal-scoring outlet.

The Gunners currently have limited choices, with Gabriel Jesus returning to training after a minor knee injury and Eddie Nketiah as the only natural options. This deficiency was apparent in their 2-0 FA Cup defeat to Liverpool, where missed opportunities led to a frustrating loss at the Emirates Stadium.

Prominent figures associated with the club, such as midfield legend and pundit Ray Parlour, have urged Arsenal to strengthen their striker options in the January transfer window.

Brentford’s standout performer, Ivan Toney, has been consistently linked with a potential move to Arsenal. However, Bees head Thomas Frank recently dismissed the possibility of Toney leaving for north London unless an “unbelievable” offer is made.

Arsenal’s sporting director, Edu, and the recruitment staff face the challenge of working with a smaller January budget after substantial spending exceeding £200 million in the previous summer. This financial constraint may require them to adopt a creative approach in their pursuit of a new striker.
