Arsenal Gunners News

Coming from Fabrizio Romano this morning One time Ballon D’or winner Karim Benzema has finally signed a 6 Months loan contract with this shocking Premier League Club.

Karim Benzema is reportedly contemplating a departure from the Saudi Pro League after a less-than-satisfactory tenure, with rumors suggesting he might caution potential suitors such as Chelsea and Manchester United. The French striker allegedly had disagreements with his former manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, leading to Santo’s dismissal in November.

Various Premier League teams are said to be interested in securing the services of the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner to strengthen their striker options before the January transfer window closes. Manchester United, in particular, has struggled to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure last year, opting for the loan market with Wout Weghorst under manager Erik ten Hag.

Despite additional investment from Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United still faces financial constraints this month. With only 24 goals in 21 games this season, the team urgently needs a new forward, especially with Anthony Martial often finding himself on the bench.

Chelsea, led by Mauricio Pochettino, has also faced challenges in securing a prolific striker despite substantial spending. Summer acquisitions Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku have not consistently delivered, while the only other recognized striker, Armando Broja, might depart if a replacement is found and the £50 million valuation is met.

Even Arsenal, in search of a new striker, could contemplate a loan move for Benzema, particularly since Brentford’s Ivan Toney is unlikely to move until the summer. Al Ittihad, however, with two and a half years left on Benzema’s contract, is hesitant to lose its prized asset this month.

Despite contractual obligations, Benzema may be optimistic about securing a return to a major European club within the next two weeks, especially if Jordan Henderson’s negotiations with Al Ettifaq are successful before his anticipated move to Ajax.
