Chelsea to loan out six and sell 10 this summer as Boehly bins £210m worth of *talent*

Armando Broja, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Romelu Lukaku, Raheem Sterling, Conor Gallagher, Chelsea players
We are going over the whole Chelsea team, so cancel your plans for the rest of the day and let us know who should be loaned out, sold, and kept.

For our Arsenal and Manchester United equivalents, we didn’t give the loan element much thought as their team is hardly at all bloated with Football Manager wonderkids. Read those after reading this, though, obversively.

Robert Sanchez, Sell
Though he has a mistake in him every game and is really mediocre overall, this may be rather contentious. Chelsea has so many goalkeepers that trading Robert Sanchez makes sense.

Djordje Petrovic: Continue
More than Sanchez from last season, Djordje Petrovic really impressed me. There is only that.

We are good with Marcus Bettinelli’s presence to help to balance the numbers.

Loan from Lucas Bergstrom
Bergstrom is obviously never going to get to Chelsea No. 1. Try to increase his worth by either lending him or selling him immediately.

Sell, Gabriel Slonina
Chelsea signed Slonina from the Chicago Fire MLS team in 2022 and loaned him out to Belgian team Eupen in August. This has been a completely useless signing with their other former MLS goalie Petrovic much improved.

Kepa Arrizabalaga: Salesperson
Indeed, a sixth goalie is right. Though he never shown his value on the field, Kepa is still the most costly goalkeeper in history. After his loan at Real Madrid in 2023/24, it is time to officially sever off relations.

Reece James: Stay in mind
Although Reece James is injury-prone, he is still Chelsea captain and they must retain some native players instead of selling everyone.

James is among the top right-backs in the world at her peak, but we regretfully never get to see him at that level as he is constantly bloody wounded. With luck, next season he will have his career back on line.

James’s injury problems at least helped one guy in Malo Gusto, who has played a lot since Chelsea signed him in January.

Following an unsatisfactory start, the Frenchman has showed great promise.

Malang Sarr-sell
This man is apparently signed to Chelsea till 2025. It is time to at last cut ties.

Benoit Badiashile: Keep blown hot and cold since he joined Monaco. We see no reason in selling him; we admire his potential.

Axel Disasi – Maintain
To be honest, Disasi also exhibits exactly the same. Which ex-Monaco guy has most promise based on our perspective on that changes almost every time we see them?

Levi Colwill: Retain
Keeping Levi Colwill at the club makes perfect sense. Bayern Munich is apparently eager and he would represent an incredible degree of sheer profit; yet, if Chelsea sells the man they have been so hard at trying to effectively tie down to a new deal last summer, Chelsea would be shooting themselves in the foot.

Trevoh Chalobah – Sell
Sadly, with Tosin Adarabioyo on top of Colwill’s amazing brilliance, the great amount of center-backs at the club makes moving Trevoh “pure profit” Chalobah totally logical. He will do well anywhere he goes and is a really decent player.

Alfie Gilchrist—Loan
Though at his age should be playing often, young Alfie Gilchrist only participated last season. Everybody concerned should gain from a Championship loan. Leeds United apparently considering this prospect.

Wesley Fofana – Keep on
For Wesley Fofana, who has to recover from yet another terrible injury, this will be a major season. He has bucketloads of potential and comes into Chelsea’s top XI, in our view.

Ben Chilwell Keep Meh. None would object if Chelsea were to sell Ben Chilwell. With Ian Maatsen traded and left-backs valued at £100 million at the club, Chelsea seems to be not making much progress in Chilwell’s position.

Marc Cucurella – Maintain
After failing to play football the year before, Marc Cucurella, who makes up most of that £100 million, had a strong 23/24 season under Mauricio Pochettino and was one of the most offended by his firing.
