Arsenal Gunners News

Chelsea player who turned down Arsenal’s offer last summer is now pleading for another chance to play for Arteta after being urged by Pochettino to find a new club in the summer.

According to a report by Fichajes, Arsenal is reportedly considering making a surprising bid for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk. The Gunners were previously close to securing the Ukrainian winger’s signature before he opted to join Chelsea in 2023. Arsenal had been in negotiations with Shakhtar Donetsk, but Chelsea swooped in and sealed the deal with a hefty £88.5 million offer.

Since his high-profile transfer to Stamford Bridge, the 23-year-old has struggled to adapt to English football and has fallen short of expectations. With only four goals in 42 appearances for the Blues, Mudryk has failed to make a significant impact.

Speculation is rife that Chelsea may be willing to offload Mudryk sooner rather than later, and it appears Arsenal is poised to reignite their interest in the player. Fichajes suggests that the Gunners are leading contenders, alongside Italian powerhouse Juventus, in the race to secure Mudryk’s services.

Chelsea, however, may face the prospect of taking a financial hit if they decide to part ways with Mudryk, whose current market value stands at around £34 million according to Transfermarkt. How this situation unfolds in the coming months remains to be seen.

While Arsenal is undoubtedly in need of bolstering their winger options, a potential move for Mudryk would come as a significant surprise. Given his struggles at Chelsea, there may be concerns among Arsenal fans about investing heavily in the young talent.

With deficiencies in several areas of the squad, including the need for added depth in wide positions, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be looking to rotate players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli more effectively in the upcoming season.
