Chelsea Manager Mouricio Pochettino has been sacked in shocking scene this evening before Thier premier League clash with Everton tomorrow

Simon Phillips’ article on SubStack today adds on what he published last week regarding Chelsea doing due diligence on seeking a new coach to replace Mauricio Pochettino, should the current be fired at the conclusion of the season.

Phillips named many contenders last week, but one seems to be surging to the top. He believes that Eddie Howe is the front-runner in the competition to be our next coach, according to many sources.

Howe was really impressed with his work at Newcastle, but their season has gone apart dramatically, and there’s a suggestion he might be moved on if the Magpies believe they can get a bigger name this summer:

“One critical piece of information I’ve received from three separate sources last week is that if Pochettino is fired or leaves this summer or before, Newcastle United’s Eddie Howe would be considered at the absolute least,” Phillips said.

“He is well-liked at the club, and three sources have identified him as a contender to me during the last several days. When a name is supplied to me by a variety of sources, it is typically true news.

Howe is not an intriguing foreign manager who will bring in a unique style of game to convert Chelsea into something completely different. As a result, this rumor will turn off many fans.

However, he is a highly good coach with a track record of getting the most out of the players he has. Furthermore, he represents the kind of decision we may imagine this ownership making. They don’t want an autocrat; they want a head coach who won’t create problems and who work with what they have.
