Chelsea has reached agreement to give Napoli Thier Star Player in Exchange of Victor Osimhen and £50 million
Napoli has allegedly reached a deal in principle with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku.
Napoli has signed a deal in principle with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku, subject to the future of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
Lukaku spent last season on loan at Roma from Chelsea, prolonging his time away from the club while being on their books, following a split with former manager Thomas Tuchel.
Napoli wants Lukaku.
According to Calcio Mercato, Chelsea planned to transfer him permanently for €38 million.
Antonio Conte, Napoli’s new manager, is a known supporter of the Belgian striker, and the two had previously collaborated to win the Scudetto with Inter.
on a recent interview, Conte stated that his enthusiasm for Lukaku has dimmed and that he would prefer to have him on his squad than play against him.
According to the aforementioned source, Napoli has made an offer for Lukaku and has struck an agreement in principle with Chelsea for less than the advertised sum of €30 million; however, the transaction is claimed to be contingent on Victor Osimhen’s departure.
Osimhen’s Situation
The Nigerian striker’s desire to leave Naples for brighter pastures is well known, and the club offered him a contract with a release clause to aid his departure.
However, the cost for the transaction is estimated to be over €130 million. This amount has turned off suitors, especially since the striker is coming off a disappointing season plagued by injuries.
