Chelsea FLOP striker Armando Broja will become the most HATED player after he’s set to complete shock transfer to Premier League Rivals
Wolverhampton Wanderers are “more active” in their pursuit of Chelsea striker Armando Broja than West Ham United, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who offers GIVEMESPORT with an update on a potential transfer at Molineux.
Wolves head coach Gary O’Neil has had a successful start to his term in charge of the Black Country club, but he will be short on centre forward alternatives.
Wanderers are comfortably in mid-table after halfway through the 2023/24 Premier League season, despite pre-season forecasts of a relegation struggle in the West Midlands. Broja has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter for Chelsea since returning from a long-term injury earlier this season.
Wolves join Premier League duo in pursuing Broja.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea is eager to sell Broja permanently, and his departure is not contingent on Christopher Nkunku’s return from injury. The France international has been sidelined but is not likely to be unavailable for the foreseeable future, so any sale of Broja might still go ahead.
Fulham and West Ham United are thought to be interested in Broja, with all three clubs seeking for an alternative No. 9 this season. After recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, the Albania international returned to action earlier this season, appearing in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in September 2023.
Broja has piqued the curiosity of several Premier League clubs in recent years, having scored nine goals in 38 games while on loan at Southampton during the 2021-22 season. However, this season, the Slough-born player has served as a backup to Senegal international Nicolas Jackson at Stamford Bridge. He might look for work elsewhere to earn more regular minutes.
According to Matt Law of The Telegraph, Chelsea values Broja at £50 million, however this figure might be reduced. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano recently told GIVEMESPORT (18th January) that Broja ‘may leave Chelsea on loan’ this month, particularly if the Blues sign a new striker.
