Chelsea are expected to face a profit and sustainability charge from the Premier League, from breaches committed under the ownership of Roman Abramovich

Chelsea is set to face a profit and sustainability charge from the Premier League as a result of violations committed while Roman Abramovich owned the club.
According to Football Insider, Chelsea is awaiting charges for their actions under former owner Roman Abramovich, with the consequences expected’sooner rather than later’.
UEFA penalised Chelsea £8.6 million last summer for past infractions during the Abramovich era. The fines may have been more severe if Chelsea had not disclosed the infractions themselves.
Chelsea is hoping that the sentence would be lessened because the new owners are engaging with the Premier League.
Chelsea’s new owners, however, believe that they have not infringed any spending limits since the ownership shift.
