Chelsea and England Star has been dropped from England’s Euros 2024 Squad, Gareth Southgate has been Ruthless
Another two players will be left out of England’s final 26-man Euro 2024 team, according to reports.
Gareth Southgate named a 33-man provisional team for this summer’s competition, with seven of those certain to be removed when the final selection is revealed.
After considerable uncertainty about the approaching news, it was revealed on Wednesday night that Spurs midfielder James Maddison will not be selected to represent England this summer.
The 27-year-old, who made 28 Premier League appearances under Ange Postecoglou last season, played in the 3-0 friendly victory against Bosnia.
However, the midfielder will not travel with the final group to Germany.
Maddison was included to the 2022 World Cup team in Qatar, however he did not feature in any matches.
Curtis Jones is one of the players who will miss out, according to reports.
Jones, who appeared in 36 games in all categories for Liverpool last season, has already been informed that he will not be part of Gareth Southgate’s plans this summer.
The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool colleague Jarell Quansah is also ‘likely’ to miss out.
Southgate confessed he was pleased by the 25-year-old, who has established himself as one of the greatest full-backs in the world at Liverpool.
After the Bosnia game, he stated, “We were extremely happy.” It is a position he is exploring, and he is eager to learn, as he has been since I first discussed it with him about a year ago, and what we witnessed in the past half hour is also a significant choice for us.”
Southgate added: “We will face different obstacles in this tournament, and we will have to solve problems in different methods that teams will present to us.”
