BREAKING NEWS: “No fighting spirit in that team” “Replace POCHETTINO now or it will be too late for Chelsea” – Didier Drogba blasts Mauricio Pochettino and names perfect replacement for Chelsea. Pochettino is Chelsea problem.

Didier Drogba suggests that Chelsea should reconsider hiring Jose Mourinho for a third term, as he believes Mauricio Pochettino lacks direction for the club. Despite spending over £1 billion on new players, Chelsea finds themselves in 11th place midway through the Premier League season. Pochettino faces mounting pressure following consecutive losses to Wolves and Liverpool, prompting some fans to call for his departure, reminiscent of Graham Potter’s brief tenure.

While Chelsea management acknowledges the team’s issues, there are currently no plans to part ways with Pochettino, whose contract runs until 2025. Drogba, a former Chelsea striker, criticizes Pochettino’s poor body language, likening him to a “walking dead man.” He expresses disappointment in Chelsea’s recent performance, citing tactical disorganization, lack of fighting spirit, communication, and character.

Drogba questions Pochettino’s decisions, particularly starting Christopher Nkunku as the lone striker, emphasizing the player’s unsuitability for the role. He deems the team’s current makeup absurd, with Pochettino unwilling to adapt his strategy to fit the personnel. Drogba believes Mourinho, a favorite to succeed Pochettino, could bring a solution, citing Mourinho’s successful history with Chelsea, winning eight championships during two previous stints.

Petit, a 1998 World Cup winner, suggests an intriguing proposition of Mourinho potentially bringing in John Terry as his assistant, providing personality and character to the team. Petit emphasizes the need for a manager with a clear understanding of how to develop existing players, urging Chelsea to focus on advancing their current squad instead of continual investment in new players. He concludes that Chelsea must find their identity, currently lacking one, and Mourinho might be the one to restore stability to what he perceives as a broken squad.
