Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez has reportedly chosen his ideal transfer destination amidst interest from Chelsea, a rival in the Premier League. The Premier League champions acquired Alvarez for an economical sum of approximately £14 million at the start of 2022.

During his tenure at Manchester City, Alvarez has made a significant impact, scoring 36 goals and contributing 18 assists over 103 appearances. Despite these impressive statistics, he often plays second to Erling Haaland, who is firmly entrenched as Pep Guardiola’s primary striker. This situation has fueled rumors of Alvarez potentially leaving the Etihad Stadium, with Chelsea purportedly making him a key target.

Additionally, Alvarez has attracted interest from Atletico Madrid and has reportedly been approached by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as they contemplate a move for the Argentine forward. However, despite these various interests, reports from The Athletic indicate that Alvarez favors a transfer to Real Madrid, driven by his desire for more consistent first-team opportunities.

According to the report, “Julian Alvarez has been linked with moves to Atletico Madrid, PSG, and Chelsea. He has been open to a move for several months, although his first-choice destination — Real Madrid — is not likely to happen this summer. He is thought to want more first-team football.”

This statement underscores Alvarez’s openness to a transfer, with a clear preference for Real Madrid, despite the unlikelihood of this move materializing in the immediate future.
