Arsenal’s dream XI after Dani Olmo transfer done deal and Calafiori, Zubimedi, Osimhen and Nico Williams personal terms agreed – The premier league title is coming Home next season
Arsenal’s activities in the summer transfer market have been relatively quiet. While they finalized a £27 million deal for first-team goalkeeper David Raya, his transfer had been anticipated for nearly a year. As the transfer window progresses, Mikel Arteta’s squad remains largely unchanged, with no new additions in the striker, midfielder, or defender positions, despite expectations of significant transfer activity.
Regarding departures, the club plans to overhaul parts of the team, with potential exits in various positions including goalkeeper, defense, midfield, and attack. However, few departures have been confirmed, and the pre-season tour in America is imminent.
Despite the slow start, there is no immediate concern at Arsenal. The club is close to signing Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori. Although questions remain about his suitability and the necessity of the deal, it indicates some movement in the transfer market.
Two players on the fringes of Arteta’s squad are being considered for exits. These players, graduates of the Hale End academy, signed new contracts in the last two years, complicating their situations. Neither has matched Arsenal’s progress since 2022. Importantly, their sales would yield ‘pure profit’ on the financial accounts, enhancing Arsenal’s financial position and aiding compliance with profitability and sustainability rules (PSRs).
Emile Smith Rowe has attracted interest from Luton, Fulham, and West Ham, while Wolves are reportedly interested in Reiss Nelson. Crystal Palace and Fulham are interested in Eddie Nketiah. Arsenal is open to all three departing, provided there is sufficient cover in the squad.
Although none of these deals are close to completion, it suggests that alongside the acquisition of Calafiori, Arsenal’s strategy is to trim the squad rather than pursue additional high-profile signings.
