Arsenal set to rival Chelsea for £110m sticker target as talks revealed

Arsenal seems poised to challenge Chelsea in their pursuit of a new striker, following their impressive 3-1 victory against Liverpool. The win catapulted them closer to the top of the Premier League, igniting their determination to compete for the title. Beyond the pitch, Arsenal has reportedly set their sights on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, entering the race alongside Chelsea.

While Chelsea appears to be leading the charge for Osimhen’s signature, they face the hurdle of meeting a hefty release clause ranging between £100 million and £110 million. Arsenal’s interest in Osimhen dates back to 2022 when discussions with his representatives took place. Alongside Osimhen, Arsenal is eyeing other options for the summer transfer window, with Brentford’s Ivan Toney also on their radar.

Reports suggest Arsenal is still mulling over their preferred striker target for the upcoming transfer window, whereas Chelsea is determined to secure Osimhen, regardless of the financial commitment. Despite Osimhen signing a contract extension with Napoli until 2026 in December, he hinted at his intention to leave the Serie A club at the season’s end during an interview with CBS Sports in January.

Osimhen acknowledged the widespread rumors linking him to the Premier League, emphasizing the league’s prestige. While he remains committed to Napoli for now, he has already made up his mind about his future. With a clear plan in mind and a focus on finishing the season strongly with Napoli, Osimhen is preparing to make the decision he’s already set in motion.
