Chelsea is debating a Lukaku and Osimhen trade.

Chelsea recently decided to withdraw from their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s rising star, Samu Omorodion, despite the player having already undergone a medical examination. The transfer seemed imminent, but complications related to Omorodion’s image rights led to the deal being canceled. This unexpected issue has forced Chelsea to reevaluate their transfer strategy and focus on other targets.

Following this setback, Chelsea has shifted their attention to Napoli’s prolific striker, Victor Osimhen. Negotiations between the two clubs are underway, with the possibility of a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku. This could help Chelsea reduce the cost of Osimhen’s transfer, which currently stands at €130 million due to his release clause. By including Lukaku in the deal, Chelsea hopes to lower the fee to around €95 million, making the transfer more financially viable.

However, even if an agreement is reached with Napoli, Chelsea still faces the challenge of meeting Osimhen’s wage demands, as the player has made it clear he is unwilling to take a pay cut. Additionally, while Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal have reportedly cooled their interest in Osimhen due to the high price, Chelsea remains one of the few clubs actively pursuing the striker. The final outcome will depend on Chelsea’s ability to satisfy both Napoli’s financial expectations and Osimhen’s personal terms.
