The France Football Federation (FFF) responded with a stern condemnation. President Philippe Diallo criticized the discriminatory remarks, labeling them inappropriate and racially abusive. The FFF announced plans to report the incident to FIFA for further action.
In response, Fernandez, a key player in Argentina’s 1-0 win over Colombia, posted an apology on Instagram early Wednesday. He expressed deep regret for participating in the chant, acknowledging the offensive nature of the song.
