Arsenal Gunners News

“I don’t know how Arsenal fans may see it but I’m back to right my wrongs, Seeing them bottling the League title twice makes me cry because the fans deserve nothing more but happiness”, Arsenal player who left EMIRATE back then has told Arteta that He will be joining as free agent this summer to help Arsenal lift the league title

Arsenal are currently prioritizing the acquisition of Dan Bentley, the goalkeeper from Wolverhampton Wanderers and a former Arsenal youth player, to serve as a backup for David Raya. This strategic move aims to enhance their goalkeeping options and prepare for any potential lineup changes.

Journalist Alan Nixon reported on his Patreon that Arsenal views Bentley as a strong candidate for the backup goalkeeper position. Bentley himself appears open to this role, even if it means being the third-choice goalkeeper. This interest in Bentley has emerged as Arsenal faces uncertainty over Aaron Ramsdale’s future at the club. Although Ramsdale is valued at £50 million, Arsenal has struggled to attract buyers willing to meet this price. If Ramsdale remains at Arsenal, Bentley is expected to join as the third-choice keeper.

While there has been speculation regarding Ramsdale’s departure, recent reports indicate that Newcastle United, one of the interested parties, has withdrawn from the pursuit. Adding Bentley would be advantageous for Arsenal in multiple ways. Bentley brings Premier League experience, having played for Wolves and featured in five matches this season, including one against Arsenal.

Additionally, Bentley qualifies as a homegrown player, having spent his formative years at Arsenal from 2001 to 2008 before moving on to Southend United, Brentford, and Bristol City in the Championship. He returned to the Premier League with Wolves in 2022.

Beyond Bentley, Arsenal is also considering Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia. However, this potential signing is more contingent on Ramsdale’s departure. Garcia had an impressive second half of the 2023/24 season with Espanyol, boasting an 82.5% save percentage and strong aerial skills. His performance has attracted interest from Real Madrid and several English clubs.

Arsenal’s goalkeeping coach, Inaki Cana, follows Garcia on social media, indicating an interest in his abilities and potential fit for Arsenal. Despite this, Bentley’s signing appears to be a more immediate and practical option for the Gunners, irrespective of the final decision regarding Ramsdale’s future.
