Chelsea has reached agreement to give Napoli Thier Star Player in Exchange of Victor Osimhen and £50 million

Napoli have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Chelsea for the transfer of Romelu Lukaku. This potential deal hinges on the future of Victor Osimhen, a key player for the Super Eagles, who currently plays for Napoli.

Lukaku has spent his recent career away from Chelsea, despite being under contract with the club. His strained relationship with former manager Thomas Tuchel led to his loan move to Serie A side Roma. Napoli’s interest in Lukaku is notable, and sources from Calcio Mercato indicate that Chelsea intended to sell him permanently, setting a price of €38 million.

Antonio Conte, Napoli’s new manager, has a well-documented affinity for Lukaku. The duo previously achieved significant success together, winning a Scudetto at Inter Milan. In a recent interview, Conte expressed his continued admiration for Lukaku, stating that he would rather have him on his team than face him as an opponent.

According to the same sources, Napoli have indeed made a move for Lukaku and have tentatively agreed with Chelsea on a fee slightly less than the €30 million mark. However, the finalization of this deal depends on the departure of Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen’s situation is critical to this transfer. The Nigerian striker has made it clear that he seeks better opportunities elsewhere. Napoli had previously signed him with a release clause to facilitate his potential exit, but the asking price stands at approximately €130 million. This steep valuation has deterred several interested parties, especially considering Osimhen’s recent season, which was marred by injuries and underperformance.

In summary, while Napoli’s pursuit of Lukaku seems to be progressing, the transfer’s completion is contingent on resolving Victor Osimhen’s future, whose hefty release clause and recent form pose significant challenges to his departure.
