However, it appears both clubs have compromised, agreeing on an initial fee of €90 million (£76 million), with performance-related bonuses that could raise the total package to €120 million (£101 million). These bonuses are contingent on Gyokeres’ performance, including his goal tally, appearances in the Champions League, and titles won with Arsenal.
Earlier this week, Leonino mentioned that only ‘financial details’ were delaying the deal between Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon. It seems these financial obstacles have been resolved, bringing Arsenal closer to securing this exciting acquisition.
Mark Robins, Coventry’s manager, previously praised Gyokeres in an interview with the Coventry Telegraph in 2022. Robins highlighted the striker’s power, technique, and goal-scoring hunger, stating, “He has everything in his locker and that desire and hunger to score goals.” Robins also noted Gyokeres’ fiery temperament, which he sometimes struggles to control when things don’t go his way.
