Arsenal Gunners News

Player representatives is now in London Colney to seal move for Arsenal first signing today – agreement was reached last week, club official announcement tomorrow morning

Arsenal have experienced a considerable boost in their transfer endeavors as Chelsea have been eliminated from the competition to acquire one of Mikel Arteta’s coveted targets.

In search of a new striker, Arsenal face the potential departure of both Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah. The pair collectively managed to score only 14 goals in the 2023/24 season, underscoring the necessity for a more prolific forward.

A promising candidate on Arsenal’s radar is Serhou Guirassy, who delivered an impressive tally of 30 goals in the previous season. Reports from Sky Sports indicate that Guirassy has decided to depart VfB Stuttgart and is contemplating offers from Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and AC Milan. While Chelsea and Bayern Munich also showed interest, the striker has reportedly narrowed his focus to these three clubs.

Guirassy’s appeal to Arsenal is amplified by his release clause, set at a mere €20 million (£17 million). This relatively modest fee presents an excellent market opportunity for Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, and Director of Football, Edu.

The Guinea international’s performance last season was remarkable; scoring 30 goals in 30 appearances and contributing three assists. His efforts were instrumental in Stuttgart securing a second-place finish in the Bundesliga, ahead of Bayern Munich.

Arteta is particularly eager for Guirassy to opt for Arsenal, viewing this as a potentially advantageous deal. Although Kai Havertz performed well as a striker last season, Jesus and Nketiah failed to make significant impacts when called upon. Acquiring Guirassy for £17 million would provide Arsenal with a cost-effective solution to enhance their attacking options, freeing up funds to pursue additional targets.

In conclusion, this potential deal could emerge as one of the standout signings of the summer for Arsenal. It would add substantial quality to their squad without imposing a heavy financial burden.
