Chelsea Star player Conor Gallagher will become the most hated player after he is set to complete the signing with premier League Rivals.
Chelsea is anticipating a new transfer bid for Conor Gallagher, with Atletico Madrid becoming the latest club to show interest. Currently, the 24-year-old midfielder is on international duty with England and has not made any definitive decisions regarding his club future.
Gallagher enjoyed his best season to date with Chelsea last year, establishing himself as a key player in a team that showed significant improvement towards the end of a challenging season. Despite Chelsea’s significant investment of over £200 million in players such as Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, Gallagher retained his position as an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield.
However, Gallagher was disappointed when Pochettino departed earlier this month. It remains uncertain how he will fit into the plans of Pochettino’s successor, Ezno Maresca. Meanwhile, Premier League clubs Tottenham and Aston Villa continue to express interest in Gallagher, but they will face competition from Atletico Madrid. According to reports, Atletico’s bold loan offer for Gallagher, whom Chelsea values at approximately £50 million, is expected to fall short.
Maresca is aware of Gallagher’s situation and is reportedly considering Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, one of his former players from Leicester City, as a potential alternative. Leicester, having recently been promoted, is expected to demand at least £40 million for Dewsbury-Hall, a player also admired by Liverpool.
In addition to potential player departures, Chelsea is actively seeking to bolster their squad, particularly in the striker position. Negotiations are ongoing for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, with the Colombian international showing interest in a move to Stamford Bridge. Villa, however, is negotiating firmly and insists on including at least one player in part exchange, excluding Gallagher, to finalize the deal.
Chelsea has other options under consideration as well, including Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion, as they continue to reshape their squad for the upcoming season.
