Former Chelsea Manager Graham Potter has rejected offer from Huge European Club as odds slashed on him becoming next Premier League manager

Reports from Sky Sports News indicate that Graham Potter has turned down the opportunity to become the next manager of Ajax. Despite engaging in talks with the club, Potter, who has previously managed Chelsea and Brighton, has decided not to pursue the position. The 48-year-old has been without a managerial role since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023. There were suggestions in December, from Sky Sports, that Potter could be a top candidate for the managerial position at Ineos if they were to part ways with Erik ten Hag.

Currently, Potter is the favorite, with odds of 3/1, to take over as manager at United, according to Bet365. Gareth Southgate, England’s national team manager, closely follows at 4/1, while Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton, Ruben Amorim of Sporting, and Thomas Frank of Brentford are listed at 8/1.

Dan Ashworth, expected to become United’s sporting director, previously appointed Potter at Brighton, where he received praise for his tactical acumen. During his final season at Brighton, Potter guided the team to a top-half finish in the Premier League standings.

Despite Potter’s availability and the speculation surrounding his potential move to United, Erik ten Hag, prior to the recent 2-2 draw against Liverpool, expressed his intention to remain at the helm of United for the upcoming season.

In summary, Potter has opted out of the Ajax managerial role and is currently a frontrunner for the position at United, with other notable candidates also in the mix. However, ten Hag’s commitment to United suggests that Potter’s potential appointment remains uncertain.
