VERY SAD NEWS as Gareth Southgate has come out and explained why he Doesn’t want Raheem Sterling on his Squad for March international break

Later today, Gareth Southgate is set to unveil the England squad, with expectations leaning towards the absence of any Chelsea players. Despite Chelsea’s recent prominence, particularly through the stellar performances of Cole Palmer and Conor Gallagher, it seems unlikely that any of their players will make the cut.

Palmer’s notable contribution was evident in Chelsea’s recent triumph over Newcastle United, where he secured a goal in their 3-2 victory. However, despite the team’s successes, Raheem Sterling’s inclusion in the England lineup for upcoming matches against Brazil and Belgium is doubtful, as reported by The Telegraph. Sterling’s absence from national team appearances since the 2022 World Cup, coupled with ongoing injury concerns, suggests that his chances of featuring in the Euros are diminishing.

Another notable absentee from Southgate’s roster is Ben Chilwell, sidelined due to yet another injury setback. Updates on the left-back’s knee injury provided by journalist Simon Phillips indicate a prolonged absence from international duties.

Sterling’s inconsistent form throughout the season further diminishes his prospects of selection. Despite occasional highlights, such as his goal against Manchester City, his performance has been erratic, evident in his recent benching against Brentford. Such fluctuations make it rational for Southgate to overlook him for the upcoming fixtures.

For Sterling, securing a place in the Euros squad and potentially salvaging his Chelsea career hinges on a strong finish to the season. However, with his future at Stamford Bridge uncertain, Chelsea might consider alternatives, with Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao rumored as a potential replacement. Williams’ impressive stats this season, with three goals and seven assists in 23 league appearances, make him a compelling option for Chelsea’s consideration.
