Inter Miami Star and Argentina International Lionel Messi has confirmed this evening that his Argentina teammate with £80 million release clause has decided to Join Barcelona over Chelsea in shocking scene

Paulo Dybala, a fellow Argentine teammate of Lionel Messi, is reportedly keen on emulating the path of the Barcelona legend by joining the La Liga powerhouse. As per SPORT, Dybala has expressed his interest in joining Barcelona, currently being on the roster of AS Roma with just over a year left on his contract.

At 30 years old, Dybala’s contract includes a €12 million release clause, indicating his openness to a move to Spain. He has displayed impressive form this season, tallying 13 goals and seven assists in 26 appearances across various competitions. However, while Dybala is eager, Barcelona doesn’t prioritize his acquisition, though they do view him as a viable alternative amidst their anticipated reconstruction under the upcoming successor to Xavi.

Dybala, having shared the field with Messi in the Argentine national team, likely gained insights into Barcelona’s dynamics. Messi, having praised Dybala in the past, envisioned a promising future for the Roma striker. With Barcelona’s offensive struggles in the recent season, there’s a potential for rejuvenation, especially considering Robert Lewandowski’s inconsistency and the recent addition of Vitor Roque, aged 19.

In the discussion of the Ballon d’Or, Dybala has been vocal about Messi’s merits, asserting his belief that Messi rightfully deserved the 2023 award. Messi’s eighth Ballon d’Or triumph last year further solidified his status as one of the greatest, surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo by three awards. While his latest win faced scrutiny due to Erling Haaland’s exceptional season with Manchester City, Messi’s historic contributions to Argentina’s victory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup significantly bolstered his case.

Dybala remains steadfast in his conviction that Messi will retire as the greatest player in history, a sentiment he expressed as recently as last December.
