The news has just broken that a key player for Manchester United has signed a new deal at Old Trafford, following discussions with Ten Hag.
Even though he is only 18, the young player has shown the wisdom and calmness of a player twice his age by becoming an important part of Erik ten Hag’s team this season.
A new deal was made for Mainoo at Old Trafford in February 2023. It will last until 2027.
But the Manchester Evening News says that talks have begun about the possibility of him getting a better deal because of how well he has played so far this season (2023/18).
Reports say that neither United nor the player’s camp are freaking out about what’s going on.
The reason for this is that Mainoo would rather focus on finishing the season on the pitch, and he has already used up a number of performance-based bonuses and add-ons that come with his present contract.
A lot of progress should be made in the talks over the summer.
The MEN story also says that Mainoo enjoys playing with Casemiro, a senior defensive midfielder, because it lets him play in more advanced areas.
The 18 senior outings Mainoo has made for United this season were recently praised by Erik ten Hag, who is currently under fire for his management, for giving him the chance to move from the junior team to the senior squad.
As Mainoo put it, “I am thankful that he gave me the chance to play for this club.”
One more thing I like about him is that he pushes you every day. You’re always up against him, and it seems like he wants more and more from his players.
This is a great way to speed up your development, in my view.
There have been rumours that Mainoo has earned a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2024 European Championship. He may also be on the team for the upcoming international games against Belgium and Brazil in March.
On the other hand, he is also able to play for Ghana, and that country has made it very clear that they want him to be on their senior team.
According to Randy Abbey, a member of the Ghana Football Association’s executive board, the organisation wants to keep an eye on, attract, and convince all qualified players to join its different national teams. This was said in February.
“The Football Association of Ghana is interested in,”There is no question that Kobbie is one of these amazing people, and the group would love to work with him and many others like him in the US and other countries.
