Arsenal Gunners News

“I can’t LOSE my job because of you”- Mikel Arteta has just withdrawn Arsenal’s ‘FLOP’ star from first-team training this morning because Arteta does not want to risk losing his job- He will train alone until after the PSV game tomorrow

After a former Liverpool player criticised Gabriel Jesus for giving the impression that the Gunners were playing “with a man down” in their loss to Aston Villa, Arsenal should give signing a replacement for the Brazilian international serious consideration in the January transfer season.

Since the Gunners have had a strong start to the season, supporters’ hopes of seeing an end to their 20-year quest for a Premier League title are growing. On Saturday night, however, Arsenal did suffer just their second setback of the year as Aston Villa prevailed 1-0 to record their eighth straight home victory and close the gap on Arteta’s team.

Liverpool overtook Arsenal for the top spot as a result of that defeat, and Jurgen Klopp’s team demonstrated why they are starting to act like the “Mentality Monsters” again by coming back from behind to defeat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

When it comes to gaining points from behind, no side in the Premier League has a better record than Liverpool this year.

After just seven minutes, John McGinn’s well-taken shot on the turn proved to be the cause of the Gunners’ defeat at Villa Park. Even though Arsenal had many of opportunities of their own, Martin Odegaard and Jesus were two of the Gunners’ many mishandled shots.

After the game, Arteta gave the most ridiculous explanation you’ve ever heard for those misses, but Steve Nicol was more enraged by Brazil striker Jesus’s general problems.

A new striker for the Gunners is being connected ahead of the January transfer window; Arteta is reportedly interested in Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney.

Gabriel Jesus has to be upgraded, according to Arsenal

Furthermore, the former Liverpool player believes that Jesus played so poorly against Villa that he might have made Arsenal appear to be playing with ten men. Hurt!

Here’s what Nicol had to say about Jesus while speaking with ESPN: “Let me tell you something, they require a centre forward. I recalled thinking as I sat there, “Where’s Jesus?”

And I’m talking about Arsenal, who I felt was in complete control, especially in the second half.

For Villa, defending was everything. However, we never laid eyes on Jesus.

Let’s put it this way: you cannot win the Premier League title while down a player. Since Jesus did nothing at all to support his squad.

“And you have to perform when you have to overcome a tight defence that plays at its peak. And he simply vanished, regardless of the fact that he failed to produce.

Notwithstanding Nicol’s assertions, it’s doubtful that Arsenal will have the funds necessary to sign Toney, who is expected to cost £80 million, or Osimhen, who is valued at an astounding £120 million.

In addition, Arteta has said on a few times that he is content with Arsenal’s striker choices, given that Eddie Nketiah is another possibility.

This season, Jesus has scored six goals in 16 appearances, while Nketiah has scored five goals in 21; neither player is very prolific.

And while Nicol has a valid point, with questions still hanging over the futures of Jorginho, Mohamed Elneny, and Thomas Partey, Arteta’s priority will probably be bolstering his midfield in the January transfer window.
